The solution developed by Biolog-id allows exhaustive tracing of labile blood products and plasma for the fractionation which the medicines derived from blood originate from.
The labile blood products (PSL) are products issuing from donor's blood, destined for transfusion into a patient. It usually means concentrated red corpuscles, concentrated platelets and therapeutic plasmas. Their common characteristics are as follow: each therapeutic unit comes from a blood donation; the duration of their preservation is limited (a few days to a year). The PSL are submitted to strict rules for preservation, transport and usage. Learn more
The plasma for fractionation (PPF) is destined to produce the medicines derived from blood. Their common characteristics are their long preservation (one to three years) and their viral inactivation during the manufacturing process. Learn more

Biolog-id has developed, in partnership with the Fractionation and Biotechnologies French Laboratory (LFB) and the French Establishment for Blood (EFS), plasma traceability for the fractionation process (PPF)
This process includes:
The Biolog-id solution more particulary allows the complete PPF traceability, from their preparation in ETS, until their output within the LFB.
It was the object of an experimental protocol, validated in July 2011 by the French Agency of medical security for health products (Afssaps).
