The dispensaries are supplied from different supply chains. The cost of these is most often dictated by sales volume.
Today, a significant proportion of medicines are ordered directly from the dispensaries to the pharmaceutical laboratories. This rate, which tends to constantly increase, highlights the new supply practices of the profession.
For that reason, most of the dispensing chemists communicate today, particularly with their wholesaler-distributors, through an internet portal, using the "standard" protocol Pharma-ML.

The solution SPC-ML developed by the company Biolog-id is a communication portal client-supplier, allowing the pharmaceutical laboratories to hold a dialogue through the web, with the officinal software.
Thanks to this solution, it is possible to handle all the command operations originating from nearly all the chemist shops.
It offers the opportunity of a real competitive edge by setting up a more direct dialogue with the chemist shops by allowing them more particularly:
This more communicative approach will also most likely allow the pharmaceutical laboratories to benefit the most from the traditional actions of their pharmaceutical visitor networks.
Pharma-ML is a protocol based on the model of exchanges of messages of the type question/answer.
The transport protocol is http.
The whole of the messages used by that protocol has been formalized with the help of the XML language.
The dispensary always keeps the exchange initiative.
The dispensary sends a message "request" to which the interlocutor (wholesaler-distributors, laboratories, groupings) responds with an answer-message.
The protocol security is guaranteed by a "key" transmitted with a message "request-client" shared by the dispensary and the server. This "signature" allows the receiver of the message to verify the proper sequence and the integrity of the communicated data.
The server SPC-ML (Server for the Placing of the Orders - ML) is a communication portal allowing the dialogue with the dispensary software using the protocol Pharma-ML.
The portal SPC-ML is built around material architecture of the PC in a Windows 2003 Server software environment.
The portal SPC-ML uses the server Web Internet Information Services (IIS) integrated into Windows 2003 Server
In this architecture, the portal SPC-ML is positioned between the dispensary software and the information system (SI) of the distributor.
Because of the necessity of having an IP connection between the SPC-ML and the dispensary software, the portal SPC-ML must have an opening towards the internet and be fitted with a public IP address.
The SPC-ML portal is modular and evolutionary software architecture composed of three distinct modules:
