RESEAUMATIQUE, specialist integrator of automatic identification solutions and RFID present the BIOLOG system, the Labile Blood Products traceability and management solution. This innovative application allows the reliable and dynamic follow up of the information linked to the blood sac (gift no., group ABO (D), spread phenotypes, patient's surname, first name, birth date ...) all along the transfusion chain. The BIOLOG system is presently in qualification phase at the EFS 'Pays de la Loire' and at the Polyclinic of Cholet, with the support of OSEA ANVAR.
The traceability of blood gift is a compulsory procedure of the authority of hemo-vigilance set up by the Order in Council no. 94-68 of 24 January 1994. Indeed, this establishes the obligation for setting up transfusion and organisation of care, to gather, keep and exchange several types of information concerning the distribution of the labile blood products, from the donor to the recipient.
The radio frequency label (RFID), real imported memory, is directly integrated into the blood sac and allows the capture, storage and updating (rewritable memory) of all the information without any contact with the reader-encoder, either available or produced during the course of the process of sampling, preparation, qualification, distribution and storage.

With several international patents under its belt, RESEAUMATIQUE has developed an innovative process for the traceability of blood products, endowed with the latest RFID technologies. By associating an electronic label (RFID) to each sac, the BIOLOG system allows to optimise the flow of information between one transfusion establishment and the care establishments.
RESEAUMATIQUE has developed, in partnership with the company DOMETIC, a new generation of intelligent refrigerators that integrate a radio frequency (RFID) reading system. All the RFID labels present in the refrigerator are read in a totally automatic way, thus creating a permanent and real time inventory of the blood sacs.
The individual identification of all the sacs and the specific data reading concerning them (donor no., immuno-hematologic data, entry and exit dates, patient's name ...), allow it to achieve an automatic control of stocks in the heart of the care establishment with complete transparency, as well as control at a distance and in real time, of the stored reserves, from the transfusion establishment (EFS).
"With the capacity to enrich or modify, the label RFID data at a distance and in a safe way, the system allows better management, qualitative as well as quantitative, between various establishments of the labile blood products", emphasizes Jean-Claude Mongrenier.
The data base program is user friendly and is perfectly integrated with the data processing system of the various establishments.
